Braves' Zach Logue: Dropped from 40-man roster
Rotowire
Atlanta designated Logue for assignment Sunday.
The left-hander will give up his spot on the 40-man roster to right-handed reliever John Brebbia, whom Atlanta signed to a one-year deal Sunday. Logue was added to the roster in late July and was called up on two occasions by the big club, but he never made an appearance for Atlanta. He's been a standout performer as a swingman at Triple-A Gwinnett this season, logging a 2.68 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 86:27 K:BB across 90.2 innings.

Braves' Eli White: Summoned from Triple-A
Rotowire
Atlanta recalled White from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.
The 30-year-old outfielder is one of two September call-ups for Atlanta, joining right-handed reliever John Brebbia. White has gotten on base at a .388 clip while popping eight home runs and going 24-for-26 on stolen-base attempts across 340 plate appearances for Gwinnett this season, but he saw sparse usage in his prior two stints with the big club in 2024. He'll likely be utilized mainly as a pinch runner or late-inning defensive replacement during the final month of the season.

Braves' John Brebbia: Finds work in Atlanta
Rotowire
Atlanta signed Brebbia to a one-year contract and added him to the active roster Sunday.
Brebbia posted a 6.29 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 58:17 K:BB while gathering 13 holds and two saves in 48.2 innings over his 54 appearances for the White Sox this season before being released by the club Thursday. Though he quickly found a home in Atlanta, he'll go from being one of the White Sox's top high-leverage arms to likely working in the middle innings with his new team. Even with A.J. Minter (hip) lost for the season, Atlanta still has several capable arms ahead of Brebbia in the pecking order to serve as setup options in front of closer Raisel Iglesias.

Braves' Max Fried: No help in loss
Rotowire
Fried (8-8) allowed three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four over seven innings to take the loss versus Philadelphia on Saturday.
Fried has walked three or more batters in four of his six starts since returning from a forearm injury. This was his second quality start in that span, though he gave up two solo home runs and an RBI double to account for the scoring plays. The southpaw is now at a 3.52 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 130:50 K:BB over 140.2 innings over 24 starts this season, though he posted a mediocre 4.96 ERA across 32.2 innings in August. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Blue Jays.

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Knocks two homers
Rotowire
Arcia went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a walk in Friday's win over the Phillies.
Arcia put Atlanta on the board with a solo shot in the third inning before belting another homer in the sixth. He was stuck in a 10-for-60 (.167) slump over a 17-game span since his last multi-hit performance Aug. 11. Arcia is now slashing .228/.281/.373 with 15 home runs and 41 RBI through 130 games this season.

Braves' Reynaldo Lopez: Defeats Phillies
Rotowire
Lopez (8-4) allowed a run on four hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over Philadelphia.
The only damage against Lopez was Bryson Stott's solo shot in the fourth inning. In three starts since returning from injury, Lopez has given up three runs over 17 frames. He forced 13 whiffs Friday, including seven with the slider, and he earned his first win since July 7. He's been outstanding all year, registering a 2.00 ERA through 121.2 frames. Lopez is currently lined up for a home matchup against the Rockies next week.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Has begun hitting off tee
Rotowire
Albies (wrist) has begun doing some baseball activities, including light hitting off a tee, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Albies has been on the shelf since late July after fracturing his left wrist, and he's finally been cleared to swing, albeit lightly. The second baseman will likely require a rehab assignment prior to being activated and isn't expected to join Atlanta until mid-September.

Braves' Gio Urshela: Back in lineup
Rotowire
Urshela (groin) is batting ninth and playing third base Friday against the Phillies.
Urshela had been absent from the starting lineup in back-to-back games due to minor groin soreness. However, he's been given the green light to play Friday. In eight games since being picked up by Atlanta to fill in for Austin Riley (hand) at third base, Urshela has gone 9-for-31 (.290) with two RBI and a run scored.

Braves' Matt Olson: Reaches 25-homer mark
Rotowire
Olson went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Philadelphia.
Olson went deep in the third and sixth innings to give Atlanta a 4-0 lead, but it didn't last. The first baseman's power has been on full display in August -- he's batting .265 (27-for-102) with eight homers and 26 RBI over 27 contests this month. While Olson is nowhere near the pace that saw him slug 54 homers over 162 games in 2023, he's got a good chance of reaching the 30-homer mark for the fifth straight full-length campaign. He's slashing .234/.313/.447 with 25 homers, 76 RBI, 65 runs scored, 30 doubles and a triple over 134 contests this season.

Braves' Charlie Morton: One out shy of quality start
Rotowire
Morton allowed three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus Philadelphia on Thursday.
Morton successfully worked around traffic in each of the first five innings, but he got tagged for a three-run home run by Brandon Marsh in the sixth. Morton threw 62 of 105 pitches for strikes, but Atlanta couldn't hold the lead after he exited the game. He's allowed three runs or fewer in six of his eight starts since the All-Star break, though the two exceptions saw him give up seven (five earned) and eight runs in his only two losses in that span. Overall, Morton has a 4.26 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 140:52 K:BB through 137.1 innings across 25 starts this season. The 40-year-old is projected to make his next start at home versus Colorado.

Braves' Gio Urshela: Sitting down Thursday
Rotowire
Urshela isn't in Atlanta's lineup for Thursday's game against Philadelphia.
Urshela is slashing .290/.313/.355 with two RBI in eight games since joining Atlanta on Aug. 20, though he's been dealing with some groin soreness since hitting an infield single in Tuesday's contest, per Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The injury isn't considered serious, though it will be enough to prevent him from playing Thursday. Luke Williams will pick up another start at the hot corner as a result and bat ninth.
