Ingredients Needed

  • Granulated Sugar
  • Butter
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Milk
  • Quick Oats or Rolled Oats
  • Salt
  • Nutella Hazelnut Spread
  • Vanilla Extract

How to Make

Step 1: Place a silicone baking mat or aluminum foil on baking sheets or spread them out on the counter.

Step 2: Now in a pot, you will add butter, milk, sugar, and cocoa to a boil on the stovetop. Boil for 2 minutes, and then remove from the heat.

Step 3: Pour in the Nutella, vanilla, and mix until creamy. Then pour in the oats, and stir again.

Step 4: Use a cookie scoop and place cookies on the silicone baking mats. Let them set up for around an hour.

Storage

For your cookies you will want to store in an airtight container on the counter at room temperature or in the fridge. The no flour cookies will store for up to a week.

  • Make sure to allow the mixture to do a full roiling boil for 2 minutes. Otherwise, your cookie texture will be off.
  • Stir the mixture continuously, otherwise it will burn.
  • If you don’t want to use Nutella then swap with peanut butter or crunchy peanut butter.
  • Stir in oats once the Nutella mixture is fully mixed in, otherwise, you run the risk of inconsistent flavor.
  • Place cookies on waxed paper, parchment, or silicone baking mat.

So I tend to use quick oats when I make no bakes. But, rolled oats can be used. You will get a chewier texture, and if you are not careful measuring the cookies can become drier in texture.

What does a rolling boil mean?

A rolling boil is when you allow your mixture to come to a full boil. That even when you stir the mixture, you will have constant bubbles popping up in the mixture.

Why did my cookies set up so hard?

Adding too much oats to the cookie mixture can make your cookies hard and crumbly in texture. It is important to measure properly.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups White Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3/4 cup Nutella
  • 2 1/2 cups Quick Cook Oats

Instructions

  • Add butter, milk, sugar, cocoa, and salt into the pot. And turn on and bring to a boil. Stir the mixture constantly.

  • Once the mixture comes to a rolling boil, set a timer for 2 minutes. Stir constantly.

  • After 2 minutes, remove from heat and pour in the Nutella and vanilla and stir until fully incorporated.

  • Then add in the quick oats, and mix till combined.

  • Use a cookie scoop to drop the chocolate cookies on silicone baking mats, or waxed paper on a counter or cookie sheet.

Notes

You can use rolled oats instead of quick oats if you would like. It will offer a chewier cookie but it will work.

Make sure to measure the oats really well as too much can dry out the cookies.

Store the no bake cookies at room temperature in an airtight container. Or if your home is hot, you can place them in the fridge.

These no bake Nutella cookies can be frozen for 3-4 months. Freeze in an airtight container or freezer bag.
