    Eggless Honey Walnut Cookies

    One evening when i was browsing, i saw lots of baked recipes posted in blogs. I realized that i haven't baked anything for the past few months. I was so energized and wanted to bake something instantly. I was inspired so much. i headed into the pantry and looked for the ingredients and found out that i was missing the key ingredient " All purpose flour and Butter". I was so much pissed. But i didn't leave my inspiration, i browsed again for a cookie recipe which can be made with wheat flour and oil. Finally i hoped into a blog and took the recipe. I substituted the regular flour to wheat flour and baked the cookie.

    Ingredients for Eggless Honey Walnut Cookies

    • Whole Wheat Flour / Atta - 1 cup
    • Sugar - ¼ cup Powdered
    • Honey - ¼ cup
    • Oil - ¼ cup
    • Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
    • Baking Powder - 1 tsp
    • Baking Soda - ½ tsp
    • Salt - ¼ tsp
    • Walnuts - ½ cup chopped

    With my fingers crossed i took my first bite. OMG it was amazing. Since this cookie had honey in it, it turned out chewy and soft. It was a total hit at my home. Since it has no butter, you can have it without any guilty. I know you would be very eager in baking these, so here you go to the recipe.

    How to Make Eggless Honey Walnut Cookies

    1. Preheat oven to 180 Degree C / 360 Degree F. Line a baking tray with foil and spray lightly with oil.
    2. Take wheat flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Mix well.
    3. Take oil, honey and vanilla in a bowl and mix well.
    4. Pour this wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix well so it forms into a smooth dough.
    5. Now add in chopped walnuts and mix well.
    6. Form small balls from it and shape them into rounds.
    7. Press them slightly and arrange them on a foil lined baking tray.
    8. Bake in preheated oven for 15 mins. Remove from oven and allow them to cool down slightly.
    9. Remove to a cooling rack and let them cool completely.
    10. Serve with a glass of milk.

    • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour / Atta
    • ¼ cup Powdered Sugar
    • ¼ cup Honey
    • ¼ cup Oil
    • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
    • 1 tsp Baking Powder
    • ½ tsp Baking Soda
    • ¼ tsp Salt
    • ½ cup Walnuts chopped

      Tried this perfectly as per your recepie but didn't come out as you say.it was soft on the top and hard at the bottom. Donno why?

      HiAarthi, today,I tried this recipe. I set the temperature to 180 degree celcius and baked it for 15mins but my cookie did not turn good.they were soft from outside but went bit burnt from the crust. I am using morphy richards 24rss otg.do we need to take out all the wire rack while making cookies? As I put on he wire rack at the lower bottom.is the preheating temperature different ?dont know what went wrong.pls reply.

      I baked few cookie types for the past few weaks from this blog for my sons snak box..
      i saw it got burnt quikly n we shd control our desire to "make it fully cooked"
      It may look raw but in 12-15 mins they got cooked n though they look
      soft they vl get the actual crunchy cookie texture soon.. u can use
      aluminium foil under n up if u want to cook it realy long.. but thats not needy..

      Cookie looks great. But, I just want to give you some info about using honey in baking which you have used in this recipe.
      Honey should never be cooked/ heated (Many of us know this but still use it for cooking just for its taste & texture and thinking it is better than sugar). Ofcourse, honey is better than sugar but not cooked honey. Using honey in baking is quite popular but cooked honey is toxic. It is not an immediate poison but gets stored in the body as toxins(undigested material) and becomes root cause for all health issues. For a quick reference, you can go through this link to know what happens when you cook honey.

      If you would like to avoid sugar, try to get natural sweetness from pureed dates, sucanat(Sugar Cane Natural), jaggery, etc.

      Hi aarthi,i tried your honey walnut cookies following the exact measurement and temp. But the cookies turned out really chewy.It was not crispy.Can you pl tell me where i could have gone wrong? i got the same dough texture as shown in ur pics.still it dint turn out well.

      Thank you for the excellent recipe, Aarthi!
      We have now made the cookies twice, one time with a mix of nuts and they turned out very good.
      The only thing I woud like to add is that in my oven the cookies took barely 11 minutes and they were done.
