Overview
Opened in January 2020, the American Express Centurion Lounge at Phoenix Sky Harbor International airport is the fruit of a collaboration between American Express and MAG USA, the company behind Escape Lounges.
The financial institution and lounge operator have partnered to craft a custom 9,500 square foot space in Terminal 4 which hosts both a Centurion Lounge and an Escape Lounge. The two clubs share a common reception area and back-of-the-house facilities. In addition, a portion of the space can be assigned to either lounge in order to minimize crowding at peak times.
The Centurion Lounge, which welcomes exclusively American Express Platinum and Centurion Card members and their guests, is a convivial and elegantly-appointed space with large windows overlooking the tarmac, a posh seating area, convenient work spaces, and a large dining zone.
The elaborate combination of warm tones, high-end furniture, gorgeous natural wood tables, custom flooring, and American Express memorabilia create a distinctive and elaborate vibe.
Amenities include power outlets, fast Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines, a printer, shower suites, a full hot buffet with freshly prepared Mexican-inspired fare, and a complimentary full bar with co*cktails curated by mixologist Jim Meehan.
Due to space constraints, there is no family room, unlike at most other Centurion Lounge locations.

I’ve now been to this lounge three times. It is officially worse than waiting at the gate. The food is like elementary school cafeteria food: frozen and reconstituted potatoes; chemical eggs, fruit from a jar. A big platter of sandwiches for dinner. Really? The food is absolute cheap garbage. Not many healthy or natural options, and nothing is homemade. It’s crowded and cramped and often has a long line. This is nothing like the other CL experiences.

A deep disappointment on every level. Impossible to get in even with a reservation. Very small and crowded. Extremely rude staff who seemed pissed to be there. Got food poisoning from the snacks. We hated it and made it not worth the extra money for the platinum card. AVOID

This place is absolutely incredible. The food options are amazing and the staff is friendly. You’d have to be a ridiculously-entitled snob to rate this place anything than a 5. Blows my mind that anyone has any beef with this lounge. I’ve begun to fly just to be able to use the Centurion lounges around the country! Flying twice to Vegas next month (found super cheap flights) literally just for a day in order to be able to use the Centurion lounges.
